The New Incident at Oglala

Incident at Oglala is one of my favorite documentaries from the '80s. It chronicles the plight of an extremely poor reservation, the rise of AIM (the American Indian Movement), and the shooting of two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Reservation that led to the conviction of Leonard Peltier for their murders. The interviews (including with the amazing John Trudell), old footage and authenticity of the film depict a poorer than dirt reservation with corrupt authoritarian control, the people rising up to fight it, the government and corrupt officials fighting them, and the framing of Peltier for the defense of native land against some FBI agents that ventured far into the Res in an attempt to follow activists. Today I heard about the new Incident at Oglala. For those not in the know or who haven't seen the documentary, the Pine Ridge Reservation is deep in the heart of South Dakota, the state that has just outlawed abortion. And guess who fucking decided to open a Planned Parenthood that will offer abortion services on sovereign native land in S. Dakota? Talk about fucking awesome. They are looking for cash, support, and this should be all over the news in a few days. This will be huge. Wanna help? They are starting to gather donations:

Dude that's awesome! I just wonder if now the SD state goverment will try to screw with women traveling to the reservation to visit the PP clinic...

I remember seeing the documentary Incident at Oglala back in the day, if I recall it was very enlightening.
