The Nosey Neighbor
So Sunday morning we had another incident with this guy Amy and I call the "The Nosey Neighbor." For the most part our neighborhood is really chill. No one has ever called the cops on our parties, it's mostly young people, dykes, or tolerant city folks - they expect a little noise and diversity. But this guy the next block up, probably 5 houses away, seems to always be walking around and every once in a while butt his head into someone else's business creating a problem. It's like he's the self-appointed neighborhood block watch guy. Usually it's him yelling and swearing at some drunk standing in the road or fucked up driver that's run into a ditch creating a bigger problem than needs be.
Sunday I got awoken around 8am by this sound of chipping at rocks and gravel being thrown. It went on and on, right outside our window. I figured it was our next door neighbor spreading a load of gravel in her parking area and then in front of the mailboxes, she does this every year or two. But it kept chipping. I finally got up and there was the Nosey Neighbor chipping away at the frozen gravel and rocks around our front steps and along the road and throwing it in the street. Apparently he thought he was helping people get traction in the melting snow... but no one was having problems. Grrr. At 9:30am I finally get up after floating in and out of sleep from the noise. At that point the snow is already melting on the street, so what's left is a bunch of gravel, dirt and 2-3" rocks, which pop out from under people's tires as they drive by and fly at our house. Nice. Fucker.
