jobby job stuff
While I'm still toying with jumping ship at work and going for a non-state job that would pay significantly more, a couple of good things salary-wise are happening for me at the library. Our new union contract was to bring a cost of living increase and another pay step, but was until last week not funded by the legislature. Now it is, meaning I'll get a 3.2% cost of living increase July 1, so my salary will actually not decrease this year. And after dropping a few hints to my boss that I was doing a lot of work outside my job description, he agreed and is now pushing for my position to be upgraded from Library Supervisor 1 to Lib. Supervisor 2. At the UW Lib Sup 1s really only supervise one section and generally the equivelant to 1-2 full time staff members, where I have been overseeing three sections of library services as well as 3 full time staff and 5-6 part timers, serving as building operations manager and doing tons of committee work. The pay increase probably won't be that much, but it's something and it is a recognition of my work. Yay. It makes me less annoyed with my job.
