I'm stuck covering at the Drama Library because they are short-staffed. Normally I don't mind covering here at all. It's super slow and the patrons are much more hip than at the Business Library, where I work. Lotsa punk, hipster, gay and alternative people and actually cute girls that aren't sorority chicks like at my library. But today it's been super busy, an almost constant line until now. And since I don't know the collection, or even how they seem to shelve things. It's some in-house non-intuitive shelving order for Reserve where instead of having one run of materials in call number order, they have them divided up by material type, so there is a run of monologs, regular reserves, serials, personal copies, acting editions... all with the same location code, but shelved seperately. The result is when someone is looking for something on reserve, I have to search 5 different places with the call number. What idiot came up with this backasswards system sure doesn't know shit about running a library. Thankfully, she just retired. But the new person, who I was on the search committee for and will kick ass, doesn't start for a few more weeks. So, I put up with it.
