Things are rockin' right now, I've seem to hit a good stride balancing work, Tablet, going out, getting out of town and relaxing. I've been going out a lot on weekdays lately, then taking it easy on the weekends, which is pretty much the opposite of how I used to live my life. Friday we discovered with the new on demand cable action, we could watch the entire last season of Sex in the City, and did. Over the weekend we watched the entire second season of Six Feet Under and started watching the L Word too. Awesome, no more waiting for the DVDs and it was free. Plus there are some hilarious soft porn Showtime and Skinemax movies like Lord of the G-Strings - ha ha ha.
Saturday we went for a day trip to Portland. We dropped off 5,000 Tablets with Justin from the Clorox Girls to deliver around town, threw out a Tablet dropbox in front of Powells, then did a little shopping. Later we met up with some of the Portland nwpunklist and national punklist folks, as well as Liam, Sarah and their kids, visiting from Rhode Island. We all met for dinner in an old grade school that had been renovated into a movie theater, hotel, restaurant, a couple bars, and some other spaces (there was a wedding going on). It was a cool way to reuse a building and they really kept a lot of the original school features. The dinner was wierd because 3 of the 5 couples had kids. Fucking punk rockers with kids everywhere. Kinda cool to hang out with hip punk parents, but also it was hard to talk to people since the kids - ranging from 6 months to 2 years - demanded their folk's attention. I dunno, I liked playing with the kids, but it also cemented the deal for me that I really am not into having kids, since they have to be the entire focus of your life. After dinner we cruised home... made it in less than 2.5 hours both ways, which was fucking awesome.
