Clinic last night was fun, although our attempts to get people there early with a punk rock happy hour from 7-9pm are only somewhat successful - a lot of people come well after 10pm. Man, what kind of job do you have that lets you go out at 11pm on a Tuesday night? Oh that's right, none!

In my new sobriety kick (I'm not really stopping drinking, just stopping drinking on weekdays as much and limiting drinking when I go out) I've become more productive. Damn, I knew there was a reason why I liked to drink. I tackled the scariest of cleaning jobs yesterday - the backseat of my truck. Among the piles of review music, pop cans, beer bottles, newspapers, garbage, tapes, etc. I found quite a few articles of clothing. Including your Tablet tshirt Mr. Gloryhole. It's now getting washed, I'll hook you up with it next time I see yoy.

We've raised close to $10,000 in donations and loans from friends to launch Tablet Magazine and now the ads are starting to trickle in, we are still two weeks out from deadline. Yay - it's working. We will have enough cash to print the first two issues regardless of advertising, color glossy covers and all. I'm totally excited for the new format, I like all the content/editorial changes we are making and will hopefully get to push my agenda even more - making people read about the bands and music I like.

The Seattle launch party is gonna be some happy hour martini and DJ deal at Chapel, which will be cool, but not so much my thing. I can clean up well and be presentable to the folks and pass in a martini bar, but I'd much rather be in black and leather pogoing to my friend's bands or some fun punk rock and drinking beer. So I'm booking the Portland launch party, which will be at the Twilight on March 20th and feature Riot-A-Go-Go from SF, the Mexican Blackbirds and the Buttfrenchers. Possibly another Portland band too. Woo woo.
